– Citizens for Accountable Leadership (CAL)
Our dual mission is to provide a platform for candidates, elected officials, and CEOs of businesses to discuss issues that are relevant to the community, thus promoting political engagement and empowerment. Secondly, our mission is to provide financial support to viable candidates seeking public office whom we deem as compelling to our organization.

Citizens for Accountable Leadership (CAL) wants to help with this quagmire a little bit. There is a saying, “Bloom where you are planted.” CAL is planted in the very large state of California with a membership of Black professionals involved in law, business, education, health, and public policy. Our mission is to try to help our community understand the ramifications of certain public policies, and assist in researching the best candidates to represent them in government. Then we must dedicate financial resources to help elect individuals to help push government policies through the local, state, and federal government.
How do we communicate:
1. Sponsoring town halls and community forums.
2. Sponsoring a slate mailer on candidates/propositions.
3. Informing via social media and the CAL website.
4. Raising money for compelling candidates/propositions.
We may not always be right; but know that we are dedicated to creating a government that works for the people; and, we need accountable leaders with the skills and tenacity and know-how to make government work for the people.
Laws, regulations, elected officials at the local, state, and national level, there are many layers that orchestrate the lives of voters. We provide a vantage point to see into political process and come away with actionable understanding.
Where you see wrong or inequality or injustice, speak out, because this is your country. This is your democracy. Make it. Protect it. Pass it on.
